About All the Things

Hi, I’m John.

I’m traveling the country in a self-built campervan, seeing the sights, and sharing the experiences. I’m quirky, strange, and unconventional; creative, funny, and weird. Left-handed. Brown-eyed. Agnostic.

Historically, I’ve been more of a homebody than an adventurer; very much a creature of habit and routine. But I wanted to change all that. To get out of my comfort zone; to explore the world around me; to find interesting, new paths in this life. So, in 2024, I decided to build out a van and do some traveling and to document and share the experience with my friends, family, and anyone else who might find it interesting.

So, yeah, I’m creating content that highlights the build progress, as well as the highs and the lows of a single guy living, working, and traveling full-time in a self-built campervan.

As of this writing, I’m living in a sticks-and-bricks as I work on the build, but I’m still out boondocking and having random adventures before the van is fully complete. You can keep up with my adventures and shenanigans on YouTube and Instagram.

I hope you enjoy the journey!

About the Van

My rig is a 2024 Ford Transit cargo van with a high roof. It’s a 350HD with the 148″ wheelbase, AWD, 3.5L EcoBoost 6-cylinder gas engine, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. I went with the Transit because it offered the most body/chassis/engine options, and plenty of vertical height for a 6-foot-tall guy to comfortably have an insulated floor and ceiling in the build. I’ve thought about a few van names, but nothing really speaks to me. I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
